Mrs. Steiner I traveled to Arizona a few weeks ago and went to a National Monument called Montezuma's Castle. This monument was built by the Sinagua Indians who were cliff dwellers in 1100 a.d.
Mrs. Steiner I am working on the Sinagua Indian tribe from Arizona. I think they are interesting because they were cliff dwellers in 1100 AD. Their remains are a National Monument called Montezuma's Castle
Genevieve My tribe is the Shawnee. They lived in the Eastern Woodlands. The Shawnee tribe was kind of confusing. They had different groups within a village. In those groups, they had smaller groups.
Hannah I did the Shawnee Native Americans for my project. They lived in Ohio. I think they are kind of interesting because they fought in the Revolutionary War, and they are not a very common native american group
Mikhail I did the Hopi tribe they lived in Arizona in four corners. they lived were water and food was good. they lived in the desert of Arizona. they were very creative with arts and crafts. I like the Hopi because of the way they lived.
Sarah I am working on the Chippewa tribe. They lived in Canada, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. They lived in tepees made from animal skins or wigwams made from birchbark. They were hunter-gatherers.
Erin My tribe is the Sioux. I am part Sioux Indian. They were hunters, and worshiped many gods. They lived in a tepee with desings on them. They lived in North and South Dakota after the Cheyenne pushed them out of Minnesota. They valued the horse. Many different tribes spoke their language.
Anna I did the Navajo Indian tribe. I thought they were intersting for their arts and crafts. When the would make rugs or blankets they would set up a loom outside in the summer and weave. They sometimes made large rugs. They also did that during the winter but they didn't set up a loom and do it outside, so they did it inside their hogan. They would weave patterns on the blankets or rugs. They were also known for their jewlery. Their color was turqois. They got the color from a plant. They would trade it and get clothes or food. They would also trade their woven blankets or rugs.
Tori The tribe I have is the Algonquin tribe. The tribe has interesting information. The tribe lives in Canada and have an interesting culter. Thier arts and crafts are amazing. Most of the crafts are pretty hard to make.
Alex I am doing the Cherokee tribe. The Cherokee are known for their strong religous beliefs and are the lagest tribe alive today. They live by Kentucky, Tenesee, and South Carolina.
Cha Cha I am working on The Algonquins. They are very interesting because the crafts that they do are amazing. The Algonquin did many different crafts like beadwork and dreamcatchers.
Jack The Chippewa Indians were a tribe that planted crops and hunted game you could just call them hunter gatherers. They also got their food from the woods ex. berries, nuts, and turkeys. They caught the turkeys with snares. When the chippewa won a war which they had alot of them the got to smoke tobacco, and if their was a rain they would burn tabacco. They thought the tabacco would calm the storm down. The chippewa fuaght with many differ tools such as arrow heads, spears, knives, bows and arrows, and wood.
Sophia I am researching the Navajo Indians for my native american project. What i find interesting about them is that they helped in World War 2. They were called code talkers. They created a code that was never broken. The Navajo live in the southwest. They are traditional yet modern. They live in hogans. They make silver work and wool weaving.
Grayson My tribe is the CHerokee tribe. They are known for their own complete alphabet made by Sequoha a great tribe cheif. Also they were one of the many tribes to walk from the Southeastern states to Oaklahoma.
My tribe is the Ojibwe. The Ojibwe lived in the upper United States This tribe were manly hunters and gatherers. They usally made wigwams to live in. They made the wigwams by using trees to form a frame, and then they covered it with birchbark. The Ojibwe is another name for the chippewa. The Europeans thought th ojibwe said their name was the chippewa.
Keegan The Cherokee are a very interesting tribe. They make a lot of different arts. They make pottery, baskets, and paintings. The Cherokee got moved from North Carolina to Oklahoma because the white men wanted them to change religions but they did not. Then the white men kicked the Cherokee out of North Carolina.
My tribe is the Aztec. The Aztecs lived in Mexico. They had human sacrifices where they killed humans and offered theirselfs to their gods. They also pricked a child's arm and offered the tears of that child to the Rain god.
Max My tribe is the Aztec tribe. The Aztecs were strange. They used human sacrafice. They used human sacrafice when someone didn't believe in the gods. They Also thought that their clans were all descended from one person.
My native american tribe is the eskimos. They like to be called the inuit. they live in Alaska, Canada,and Greenland There clothes are made of animal fur. They ate lots of raw meat because they dont have anything to cook with. they have to survive in very cold climaates.
Austin My tribe is the Pueblo Indians. They liked to make pots and rugs. They ate plants and large animals. They speak Spanish or English. They live in cliff dwellings.
Cole My tribe is the Blackfoot Indians. They were located in part of Montana and Alberta, Canada. They live in tipis. Their main food service is buffalo. They were very spiritual to the sun god. They were a very facinating tribe.
Joseph My tribe is the Iroquois.They lived in New york. I think the Iroquois are interesting because they made the first form of democracy in North America. To the Iroquois, North America is known as "Turtle Island".
My tribe is the Mayan. The Mayans lived in Mexico. They usally lived in clay houses and the roofs were made of palms. They built pyrimids to worship their 260 gods and goddeses.Nobody knows how they made them so high and wide.
Jack The eskimos are very interesting because of their lifestyle and customs. One custom is that when babies are born they are given special amulets.The Eskimos eat many thing including fish, seals, walrus, and sometimes even a polar bear. They have many tools such as drills and many knives. The men hunted and the women did the skins.
Matthew I had the Apache. Anyone that thinks the Apache are barbaric is wrong. The Apache were like like any other tribe with differet beliefs, tools, houses, and so-on. The Apache lived a hunting way of life. They went to war a lot, but didn't kill out of cold blood.
Kiley My tribe is the Sioux. They lived in the Dakotas, Montana, Nebraska, and Wyoming. They had lots of customs. At birth a baby was put in a cradleboard and stayed there until he or she was two. They would take the baby out to eat,and bathe. They hunted lots of buffalo. When the buffalo was butchered, none of it was wasted.
Sophie G. My tribe is the Seminole. I picked the Seminole tribe because I didnt know anything about their tribe. One interesting thing that my tribe wold do every summer is that they would hold a ceremony called the Green Corn Dance. Another thing that the Seminole would do is that thet would make dolls called palmetto dolls. They would sell them at The Green corn Dance. The Seminole lived in a house called a ''chikee''.
Karina My Tribe is the Anasazi.I choose the Tribe beacause the Tribe name is very intersting.They live in the four corners,Arizona,New Mexico, Utah,and Colorado.
Claire My tribe is the ManDans. I really liked their way of life. It was very natural and peaceful. I also liked how they held a lot of ceromonies, and how when they needed to they defended themselves.
Emily I did the Chinook. They weaved baskets and mats out in the sun all day. The upper class Chinook flattened their babys head. They also (at the age of ten) a Chinook boy was sent out on a vision quest. A vision quest was were they went out into the woods and look for their gurdian spirit. A guardian spirit was a animal or object that they believed guided them through their whole life and never left them.
